New Doesn't Always Mean Clean

Even a brand-new car can arrive with bonded contamination from transport, storage, rail dust and time spent at the dealership. Applying a ceramic coating directly over that contamination can compromise both the finish and the coating application.

That's why we've built the Dad's New Car Exterior Protection Kit around the complete preparation process. Gtechniq Iron Remover tackles embedded ferrous contamination, while P&S Paint Gloss and the TRC Clay Bar remove remaining bonded contaminants. Gtechniq Panel Wipe then leaves the surface properly prepared before Crystal Serum Light is applied.

Dad's Protection Process

1. Wash: Begin with a thorough wash and rinse before completely inspecting the paintwork.
2. Chemically Decontaminate: Apply Gtechniq Iron Removing Wheel & Paint Cleaner to remove embedded ferrous contamination, then thoroughly rinse.
3. Physically Decontaminate: Use P&S Paint Gloss as a lubricant with the TRC Clay Bar to gently remove remaining bonded contamination.
4. Inspect the Paint: Check the vehicle carefully. Even new vehicles can have swirls or defects that may require polishing before coating.
5. Panel Prep: Once the paint is clean, corrected if required and completely dry, use Gtechniq Panel Wipe to remove polishing oils and remaining residues.
6. Apply Crystal Serum Light: Working methodically one section at a time, apply Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light according to Gtechniq's application instructions.
7. Level the Coating: Use the TRC Pearl Coating Towels to thoroughly remove and level excess coating before it cures.
8. Allow to Cure: Follow Gtechniq's recommended curing and aftercare instructions before exposing the vehicle to water or washing.

Important Information

Crystal Serum Light is a genuine ceramic coating and correct preparation and application are important. Always work indoors or in a suitable controlled environment, ensure the paint is cool and thoroughly inspect each section during application to prevent high spots.

This kit does not include polishing equipment. If Dad's new vehicle has dealership swirls, scratches or other paint defects, we recommend correcting these before applying Crystal Serum Light, as the coating will lock in the condition of the paint underneath.
