Microfibre Questions

  • Short pile edgeless for paint and for removing coating, twisted loop for drying, a dedicated towel for glass, and a separate colour for wheels and door shuts that never goes near paint. Keeping them sorted matters more than the brand on the label.

  • Warm wash with a microfibre detergent, no fabric softener, no bleach, and keep them away from cotton. Softener fills the fibres, and a towel that will not absorb is a towel that scratches. Air dry, or tumble on low.

  • When it stops feeling slick on a wet panel, or the moment it hits the ground. A mitt that has picked up grit is a scratch waiting to happen and no amount of washing brings it back. Rinse it as you work, wash it on its own, and keep separate mitts for paint and for wheels.
