Tyre Shine and Dressing Questions

  • Down to taste. Some dressings give a deep wet-look gloss, others sit at a clean satin or natural finish. A gel or a longer-wearing dressing tends to hold its look through more washes, so pick by how shiny you like it and how often you want to redo it.

  • Too much product or driving before it cures. Apply a thin, even coat, let it flash off, then wipe back any excess. A thin layer that bonds beats a thick one that flings.

  • A few washes for a lighter dressing, longer for a durable gel-style one. Clean the tyre properly first, apply thin and let it cure, and it will hold far better than a rushed heavy coat.
