Polishing Cloth Questions

  • Buffing off polish, compound and product residue after a correction pass, and for wiping down between stages. A short, dense nap grabs residue without smearing it back onto the paint.

  • Polishing cloths are tuned to lift oily polish residue cleanly. A general towel can smear it. Keeping dedicated cloths for the polishing stage gives you a clearer read on your finish.

  • Plenty. You go through them fast during a correction, since a clean face buffs cleaner. Rotate to a fresh section often and wash them separately afterwards.
