Maxshine 3 Step Pad Kit
The MaxShine 3-Step Polishing Kit gives you a simple, versatile pad system for tackling everything from heavier paint defects through to final finishing. Combining the MaxShine Microfibre Cutting Pad, Yellow Foam Polishing Pad and Red Foam Finishing Pad, this kit gives you the three core pad types needed to cut, refine and finish automotive paintwork.
Whether you're completing a full multi-stage paint correction or simply choosing the right pad for a one-step polish, this kit provides the flexibility to match your pad and polish combination to the condition of the paint.
What's Included
- 1 x MaxShine Microfibre Cutting Pad – The most aggressive pad in the kit, designed for heavier defect removal when paired with a suitable cutting compound.
- 1 x MaxShine Yellow Foam Polishing Pad – A versatile medium polishing pad ideal for refinement, light-to-moderate correction and one-step polishing.
- 1 x MaxShine Red Foam Finishing Pad – A soft finishing pad designed for final refinement, gloss enhancement and finishing polish applications.
The 3-Step System
Step 1 – Microfibre Cutting
For paint with heavier swirl marks, oxidation, scratches and more substantial defects, start with the MaxShine Microfibre Cutting Pad. Pair it with your preferred cutting compound for increased defect removal and faster correction.
Step 2 – Yellow Foam Polishing
Follow with the Yellow Foam Polishing Pad to refine the finish, remove light compounding haze and restore clarity and gloss. The Yellow Pad is also an excellent standalone choice for one-step corrections on vehicles that don't require heavy cutting.
Step 3 – Red Foam Finishing
Finish with the Red Foam Finishing Pad and your preferred finishing polish to maximise gloss, depth and clarity. This final stage is ideal for refining softer paint systems or achieving the best possible finish before applying protection.

How to Use
- Inspect the Paint: Assess the condition of the vehicle and perform a test section before choosing your pad and polish combination.
- Choose Your Pad: Use Microfibre for heavier correction, Yellow Foam for polishing and refinement, or Red Foam for final finishing.
- Apply Your Compound or Polish: Prime the pad appropriately and apply a small amount of your chosen polishing product.
- Work in Sections: Polish manageable areas at a time using controlled machine speed, pressure and arm movement.
- Inspect Your Results: Remove residue with a clean microfibre towel and inspect the finish before deciding whether another stage is required.
- Progress Through the System: For a full correction, move from Microfibre Cutting to Yellow Polishing and finish with the Red Finishing Pad.
- Protect: Once polishing is complete, properly prepare the surface before applying your preferred wax, sealant or ceramic coating.
Do You Need All Three Steps?
No. The three pads give you options rather than forcing you into a three-stage correction every time.
Heavily defected paint may require the Microfibre Cutting Pad followed by Yellow and Red. Moderate paint may only need the Yellow Polishing Pad, while well-maintained paint could simply require the Red Finishing Pad and a fine finishing polish.
Match the pad to the paint, rather than using more correction than necessary.
PRO TIP: Always perform a test spot before correcting the entire vehicle. Start with the least aggressive pad and polish combination you think will achieve the desired result, inspect the finish, and only increase your cutting aggression if required.
